Within Alaska there is a variety of housing units that have been built over a number of years. The years that the housing units were built range from pre 1939 until 2005. 1.83% of the housing units were built in 1939 or some other unidentified time before that. During this period was also seen the biggest percentage of housing units being built overall the year categories.
After this time frame, the housing units being built began to decrease. The years 1940 and 1949 2.27% of the housing units were built. Between the years of 1950 and 1959 5.91% of the housing units were built. The years between 1960 and 1969 plunged to an even lower percentage of structures being built with a total of 10.10%.
1970 to 1979 saw a small increase again to 25.03% and again a bigger increase of 26.53% between the years of 1980 and 1989. For the next few years, during the time frame 1990 to 1994 the figures continued to increase until it reaches the highest since 1939; with a 5.85% growth in housing stock.
However, between the years 1995 and 1998 there was a big decrease in the figures again. Only 7.33% of housing units were constructed in this period of time in Alaska. There was a further dip in housing structures being built between 1999 and 2000 to 15.13%.
Within Alaska there are of housing units with different values. There is a total of 2.59% of the housing units worth less than $20,000 dollars. The $20,000 to $39.999 house value category has a total of 3.84%.
The category of housing with the highest numbers at that value range is the $40,000 to $59,000 with 3.22%. Second highest is the $60,000 to $79,999 value range with 2.96%.
Next is the $80,000 dollar to $99,999 dollar range which reduces down to 3.13%. The next category has a slightly higher percentage with 12.70% of the housing structures having a value of between $100,000 to $149,000. Not surprising perhaps, as the house values increase in the last few categories, the percentage totals in Alaska go down.
16.31% of houses are valued at between $150,000 and $199,999 and only 33.11% of housing units are valued from $200,000 and $299,999 dollars.
There is a slight increase in the next category with 13.06% valued between $300,000 and $399,999. The value of structures between $400,000 and $499,000 totals 4.63%. Finally 3.12% have a value of $500,000 and $749,999 and only 0.59% are valued at $1,000,000 or above.
In Alaska there is a total religious distribution of 32.27%. The smallest number of people identified with a religious denomination, was Islam with only one person. Someone who follows this faith system is called a Muslim and they believe in one God, Allah. The Koran is believed to be Gods actual direct words written down on paper for his believers to follow.
The number of people in Alaska who said they were Jewish came to a total of 0.46% people. The faith that they follow though is known as Judaism. Judaism could be said to be about following a way of life set down by God in the Tanaka and Talmud; religious scrolls. They also believe God is the one true God.
There were 9.27% people who identified themselves as being a Christian Other. The Christian other groups are those who define themselves outside the other more traditional or well-known Christian churches. For example smaller churches such as Fundamentalist Christianity who may have stronger views. Or there can be Christian churches who untie together as one Christians believe in the one God the Father and generally the Son and The Holy Spirit, however what they believe and how they believe it varies considerably form Church denomination to church denomination.
People who said that they were Presbyterian amounted to 0.77% and those who were Methodist came to 0.61%. The Presbyterian Church was formed in Scotland and the Methodist Church has its roots with John Wesley an English minister, they are both Christian Churches. They both believe in the sovereignty of God but they have their own way of expressing this to and in the world. They are generally speaking more traditional than some other Christian denominations.
Lutherans again a Christian church, totaled 2.17% and this denomination was founded by Martin Luther a German minister. Pentecostals are a group of churches with perhaps more evangelical or charismatic beliefs of God, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit. The holy trinity; the three in one. Pentecostals numbered 2.60% in Alaska. Episcopalians, another Christian Denomination totaled 0.67% and the total number of Baptists was 4.18%. As the name suggests there is a connection with Baptism. One of the main beliefs in the Baptist Church is that they believe that babies, young children or adults who do not believe in the one true God as savior should not be baptized. (The term Baptist Church in itself covers a wide range of differing sub beliefs across different churches in different places).
LDS, the Latter Day Saints, came to 3.31% and is a well-known church with Christian principles. Someone who attends the LDS is called a Mormon and the church was founded by Joseph Smith. The people who said they were Catholic had the highest total in this religious distribution category in Alaska with 7.97%. The Democratic Party is not only one of the longest running political parties in the US but in the word as well.
Independent parties have always been a part of the political makeup in the US and are synonymous within the American political system. They are still quite varied in terms of political beliefs and ideals to this day. They range from parties such as the Nationalist Socialist movement, The Green Party, The Boston Tea Party, The Independent Party and the American Party.
